Fresh from a two-meeting suspension, Brett Prebble looks the man to beat in what appears an open Jockey Challenge today.

Douglas Whyte was at his usual post last night, heading the Challenge markets at 2.5 when oddsmakers opened for business but hotly pursued by Prebble at 3.4.

Olivier Doleuze has been in brilliant form and was listed as third choice at 8.5 after his treble on Wednesday night at Sha Tin.

While Whyte opens the day with the likely favourite in Mandarin, Prebble rides one of a number of interesting first starters in the race, Perfect Gear for Caspar Fownes.

But if he is unable to put a score on the board there, Prebble has a host of strong chances throughout the afternoon that should see him picking up plenty of points.

East Rider (race two) drops back to Class Five for the first time and looks a strong hope, while Crush On You (race three), Telecom Gogo (race four) Blaze King (race seven) and Sunrise (race 10) all look to have good winning chances.

By the same token, the race for jockey honours doesn't look a simple one and punters looking for more value could do worse than Darren Beadman at 11.0.

Beadman suffers from a lack of numbers with six rides as opposed to 10 for the market leaders, but he has a book strong in quality if not quantity.
