HELENE MASCOT – Race 9 (399), 17 February 2008 Sha Tin Race Meeting

The Stewards have this morning been advised by Mr A S Cruz, the trainer of HELENE MASCOT, a declared runner in the Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong Derby Trial to be run at Sha Tin on Sunday 17 February 2008, that the horse has been sore in the right front foot. Mr Cruz advised because of this soreness HELENE MASCOT did not gallop as scheduled on Sunday 10 February 2008, however, did work on the Riverside Gallop this morning.

Following its work this morning HELEN MASCOT was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said HELENE MASCOT was sore in the right front foot and will now be attended to by the farrier.

The Veterinary Officers will continue to monitor the condition of HELENE MASCOT in the lead up to Sunday’s race.
