125th Anniversary race meeting free for all racegoers; F&B as little as half price

The Hong Kong Jockey Club has been proudly growing with Hong Kong in the past one-and-a-quarter centuries. To help celebrate this memorable occasion, racegoers are being offered free admission* to the special 125th Anniversary race meeting on Sunday 15 November at Sha Tin Racecourse. There will also be half-price offers on food and 30% savings on beverages** throughout the racecourse, and some special old-style local dishes available to stir customers' memories. Bringing the party atmosphere to an exciting climax will be performances by Cantopop superstars and a spectacular closing pyrotechnics show.

Details of the exciting programmes on offer are as follows:

¡P Free admission

Admission fees to the public enclosures* will be waived at both racecourses on 15 November to help racegoers enjoy the exciting sporting action and spectacular performances.

¡P Special discounts on food and beverages - up to 50% off

There will be a 50% discount on food items and 30% on beverages** throughout the racecourse. Eight traditional local dishes (photo 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8) will be offered to stir racegoers' memories of the old days.

Other catering offers include a special menu at Pak Sing restaurant for only HK$125 per head, and an international buffet lunch at the China Box for tourists also at HK$125, a 60% discount. Limited seats are available; please call the Club¡¦s hotline 1817 for reservations.

¡P Spectacular performances with superstars

Dancers and ten mascots representing Hong Kong¡¦s Equine Heroes will perform in an opening dance show. Famous local designer William Tang will present a collection of 15 classic outfits entitled ¡§As Time Rides By¡¨ in the Parade Ring.

A grand finale variety show will follow the day's ten races at 6:00 pm on the turf track. Superstar singers Sam Hui and Joey Yung will perform a range of all-time favourites to celebrate the Club's 125th Anniversary. The climax of the day will be the 125th Anniversary Sweepstakes lucky draw, which will be followed by a spectacular pyrotechnics show.

¡P Feature race ¡V the 125th Anniversary Cup

The day's two feature races of the day, the Cathay Pacific International Cup Trial and The Hong Kong Jockey Club 125th Anniversary Cup will be run as Races 7 and 8 respectively. HKSAR Financial Secretary The Hon John Tsang will present the 125th Anniversary Cup to the winning Owner.

¡P 125th Anniversary merchandise on sale

A limited-edition DVD featuring footage of the ten "Hong Kong Equine Heroes" featured on the Sweepstakes tickets will be on sale at Sha Tin Racecourse, price HK$90. Racing fans should not miss this very collectible souvenir. Also available will be a series of individual horse plushes (soft toys) featuring the same ten Equine Heroes, price HK$38 each.

Members of HKJC may obtain complimentary admission badges to invite their guests* to attend the 125th Anniversary race meeting. Special discount offers of 50% off food and 30% off** drinks will be offered at designated dining outlets in 1-3/F betting areas and 5/F loges in the Members Enclosure.
