Stable Transfer – Heartline (J330)

The Stewards received a stable transfer application on 2 March 2009 for HEARTLINE to be transferred from Trainer A S Cruz to Trainer P O’Sullivan. The horse is owned by the Good Time Syndicate.

Based on the information provided to the Stewards by Mr Cruz and the Good Time Syndicate, a difference of opinion in the stabling and training of HEARTLINE has arisen. The owners of HEARTLINE expressed disappointment that Mr Cruz had not been able to comply with requests made by them on certain areas for the care of HEARTLINE. Mr Cruz said the requests of the owners on certain aspects on how HEARTLINE should be trained does not suit his training regime. Mr Cruz advised the Stewards he no longer wished to continue to train HEARTLINE.

Under normal circumstances permission would not be granted by the Stewards for HEARTLINE, which was successful in its most recent race start on 22 February 2009, to be transferred to another stable. It is the policy of the Stewards that last start winners would not be normally permitted to change stables during the racing season. However, considering Mr Cruz does not wish to continue training HEARTLINE, the Stewards have, in the circumstances, given approval for the horse to be transferred to the stable of Trainer P O’Sullivan.
